Hai readers,
In my opinion travel is a good entertainment. This is my only comment, you can leave your comment below
I am a person who loves water a lot so I really wanted a houseboat trip a lot. But now my wish has come true and yesterday I went on the Alappuzha Houseboat.
Houseboas in Kerala means enjoying the slow pace of life, exploring and getting to know the people of Kerala. What makes the Kerala houseboat experience magical is the fact that you aren't rushing around trying to cram different things into one day. All you are doing is sailing the tranquil backwaters of Kerala, greeting the locals, stopping at any place that piques your interest, and enjoying sumptuous meals on board.
Once you board your houseboat around 9:00 am, you can ride the ponds until 5:30 pm. After that, your houseboat will be anchored on the shore while local fishermen will start working until the early hours of the morning. The next morning, after taking a quick shower, you can enjoy a delicious Kerala breakfast on the way back to your hotel or Alleppey.
The interior of the boat:
The boat's engine started and, with slight jolts, the boat began to move. Our boat had an open area in the front, which had a sofa with a coffee table. A dining table with 6 chairs and a bench runs along the periphery of the open area. The wall had the LCD TV, which played movies saved on a USB stick. Wired connection was not an option as it flowed into the ponds.
Satheesh, the driver had his seat right at the front of the boat, with the steering wheel. Inside the houseboat for emergencies, life jackets, fire extinguisher, first aid kit and booyies were available.
A small corridor ran along one side of the boat, leading to the two bedrooms. Each bedroom measures 10ft x 10ft with AC unit, coat rack, lockable wardrobe, windows and an attached bathroom. The hallway also had a sink and a mirror, all carefully hidden between the bedroom doors. Beyond the sleeping area was the last part of the boat, which contained the kitchen, where Mohan chettan was busy preparing lunch for us.
Lunchtime experience
He prepared a great variety for us including rice, daal, fried pomfret, Nendran chips, mango pickles, aviyal, salad and papad. They were all delicious, full of flavor. Mohan chettan was certainly a great cook. The stop lasted about an hour and a half, after which Satheesh set the ship in motion for another hour of cruising.
In the evening
The sun began to set, the bright light of day began to give way to the warm orange of the impending twilight. The endless ponds provided the perfect mirror and this orange tint was now everywhere. It was as if someone had set fire to the water.
A houseboat experience on Vembanad Lake is truly super. If you have never traveled by houseboat you should definitely go for it one day and you will love anything.
Thank you🤩
