Our little hero named “Sarthak” reads in class II. Shartak is known to everyone for his inquisitiveness and intelligence. During Durga Puja, Shartak arrived at his maternal uncle's house. Here he wandered in the neighbourhood woods. The area was full of ponds, groves, and wetlands. The little boy sees everything with wonder. He ran after butterflies. Look at the yellow bird sitting in a mango tree.
Sarthak stays in the heart of the city. There are numerous shopping complexes, cinema halls, and restaurants. But he finds himself more relaxed in the abundance of nature. In the evening, he sat by his grandpa and listened to the stories of the old days. When there was no road to the village. In one year, the village was flooded by river water. Shartak's little eyes widened with surprise. Shartak's grandpa's home had many pets. Starting with cats, dogs, cows, and birds. Shartak loves to play with the pets.
Shartak often stands close to a nearby pond. He observes the movement of the water closely. There is a large Ruhu fish in that pond. Sometimes the fish come close to the ghat. Shartak has seen the fish a couple of times. He has given a name to that fish. He calls it “Ruhu Raja." On that day, after lunch, Shartak was sleeping with his grandma. Unexpectedly, his sleep was disrupted by a dream of that fish. He saw that a fisherman had netted the Ruhu Raja. Shartak silently got up from bed and went out of the room. He went to the pond side.
He was sitting alone in the ghat for a long time. Suddenly, he spotted the big ruhu fish. It is playing in the dark water of the pond. Afterward, the fish came very close to the ghat. Its body was beaming in the sun's light. Shartak came close to the water body.
In a sudden temptation, Shartak extended his hand to touch the fish. The fish was very close. Shartak tried hard to stretch his little body. In desperation, he lost control and slipped into the water. Shartak did not know swimming. He shrieked in fear. There was no one in his vicinity to respond to his cry. He was almost sinking in the pond, somehow he gets hold of a hanging branch of a tree. After struggling hard for half an hour, he came back to the bank of the pond by clutching the branch of that tree. He was totally exhausted. Shartak was struggling hard to breathe. Everything was turning dark infront of his eyes.
By that time grandma got up from afternoon nap, she started searching for Shartak everywhere. Local kids joined her in the search. Shartak was found unconscious close to the pond. Worried grandma took home Shartak on her lap. Old village doctor came with thick glass on his eyes. He examined Shartak carefully. After primary care Shartak came back to conscious. Grandma cried in joy.
After a few days, Shartak revealed his adventure to grandma. Grandma hugged Shartak and kissed on his forehead.
