Welcome, amazing readers. Here is my new blog.
Love is often unreasonable and obstinate. Love is the force that helps one find the purpose of life. When we endear something close to our hearts, we ourselves become loved.
During my daily journey on the local train, I often met a banana vendor. He was a young, bright boy. I used to buy bananas from him. Some time he used to sit and talk with passengers. The boy shared anecdotes of his life with me. Today I am narrating his love story.
The boy was from a needy family. He had four siblings. To support his family, he used to sell bananas from afternoon to evening. He was then studying at class XII. Naturally, he could not attend school regularly.
Young loves are like cactus; they blossom even in the extreme weather. The boy was in deep love with a girl of his class. The girl was from an orthodox Muslim family. On the birthday of the girl, the boy gifted a modest mobile phone to her. When the girl's family discovered the gift of young love, the girl couldn’t convince them about the source of the funding. She somehow managed the suspension of her parents, who only care about the honour of the family.
At the time of Eid, the girl brought deliciously cooked items for the boy. The young hearts were full of dreams. The boy wants to set up a profitable business. The girl wants to have more freedom.
In winter, the girl wanted to visit the zoo in Kolkata. The two went to the zoo by bunking school. They saw the white tiger roaming in its small enclosure. They looked at the exotic birds with awe. They shared chowmin in a roadside food stoll. The girl cleverly used her scarf to hide her identity.
One afternoon the lovers met in an abandoned neighbourhood building. When they got their first and last kiss. To their misfortune, the girls uncle caught them red-handed.
The girl's parents came to know about the love affair. Education came to a halt for the girl. Within a few months, the girl's parents arranged her marriage to a much older man. She cried for days and, in the end, accepted her fate.
The boy changed for ever. Thereafter, he does not waste his time chatting with passengers. He only concentrates on his business. Sometime he take a look at the picture of the girl, which he took during visit to the zoo. A few drops of tears flow from his tender cheeks.
