A Poetic Love Story About A Shy Boy

Love is a feeling that is cherished by every human being. When you are young, you have a fresh mind and a jubilant heart, and you often fall in love. There is magic in loving an unknown individual. Loving a person with no hope of reciprocation elicits poems and writings from our minds.

There is nothing more beautiful than a silent love that has no expression outside but is conveyed through the eyes. Yes, I am sounding very old for today's generation. But our protagonist grew up in a small town in a pregadget era. He was a shy and timid boy, often bullied by his peers.

Those feelings of love knew no reasoning, no opportunism, and no selfishness. Those feelings are so dear because they have never been expressed, are pristine, and are still reserved in the treasury of the heart, unscathed by the tyranny of time. On riding the vehicle of this memory, you can time travel; you can still relive the little moments you spent on a long-forgotten summer afternoon.

When you meet a person unexpectedly, but something in the air tells you that you were known to each other, it may be in a past life. You were a little bit shaky, but she was a free-flowing stream; she had a smile on her face like the moonlight on a clear sky. She was conversing at ease, and your eyes were hooked on her face, and you were answering more with a smile and less with words. There was something happening in your heart; it was telling you something.

You were eagerly waiting to meet the girl again. Your days were passing quicker than usual. And next time, when you meet her, you stumble on a revelation: the girl belongs to a different faith, although that did not disturb you much. Now you start to meet her regularly on weekends at the coaching center. The weekdays were flowing more quickly. But slowly, conversations dried up. You had to forcefully initiate conversation, and she replied with fewer words.

And then came the last straw that broke the camel back. She has been in a relationship for many years. Your heart shrank, but acceptance was the only natural solace.

Time was passing; winter made way for spring. She started calling you by name; at least she regards you as a friend. Friendship is often a more valuable relationship that paves the way for more intimate relationships. But something like that did not happen in your case.

In the midst of all this, exams came, and you fared well. And after the exam, for the very last time, you met her. She was in a red salwar. Her eyes were brighter than ever. The city was already in the grip of a scorching summer. Fortunately, the teacher did not turn up for that day. So, you have more time to chat with her. She was speaking freely with you, and you reciprocated. Your eyes met her, and she probably knew what was going on in your heart. But a good time did not last long. You had to bid adieu to her. Her last words rang in your ear for weeks. Days, weeks, months, and years passed, you became older, and your hairline receded.

But the memory is still green in your head. You were not able to meet her again. Maybe somewhere in the crowd of the city you met her, but both of you could not recognize each other. She should have been married by now and had kids.

One evening, you tried to find her on social media platforms but failed miserably. The young, tender face remained alive in your memory.

Unfulfilled love has a magic; it always remains fresh and is always eager to make a new start.

This is the story of every typical shy boy who often falls in love in their youth but is seldom able to pursue it with conviction.
