Hey everyone. Have you ever heard the word “Glossophobia”? It might sound like a strange word but believe me, it is an extremely popular phobia that we all must have experienced at least once in a lifetime. Yes. Glossophobia means fear of public speaking. Now you are recollecting all those memories from your past. I think I would be the right person to tell you this. Because I once was a victim of this phobia. To be frank with you I am a freaking extrovert but I used to be afraid of public speaking. After making insignificant changes in my perception, I got rid of glossophobia. Now I would like to share those things with you.
These are some common myths you might have heard about public speaking

English:
One of the most common complaints about public speaking is “I can't speak English.” Come on, guys! English is just a tool to communicate with the world around you but it is not the only way to do so. If you want to become a public speaker, start with your native language, or mother tongue. No one will criticize you for being vernacular. Remember it is the first language your mother taught you. If you can clearly express what you truly feel, believe me the result would be incredible. Once you become confident in your communication skills you can start speaking in English.
Expertise:
To start with definition of the word Expertise - it means having an exceptionally high skill in any field. All the great leaders in our world are experts in this skill. No matter how great someone's journey is it starts with a single step. So, take your first step towards your public speaking journey today by starting your very first speech. For this exercise to be helpful I will give you a very handy suggestion. Whenever you get a chance to speak in front of everyone bring yourselves to grab that opportunity. “Excuses will always be there for you. Opportunities won’t.” Read that sentence again. If you can do this every time, you have a chance to speak very soon, you will find yourself in a position where you cannot even imagine.
Experience:
“I will be ready once I get enough experience” someone told me. Really? You will never be ready unless you believe in yourself. Experience is just a matter of years and months. You do not need to be experienced to express your thoughts and opinions in a much better way than you created. All you need is to trick your brain to believe that you are an incredible crowd puller until it turns into reality. You will learn a lot from your own mistakes in your journey. Remember life is a journey full of destinations. No matter how far you travel, the destination remains. So, forget about getting experienced, you will become one eventually.
