All About The Song- Oo Solriya Mama.. Oo Oo Solriya Mama..

Hello all,

This is my first ever blog. I have always had a passion to write but I have not written any blogs yet. I have tried writing novels a few times but have not accomplished it. I will have an urge to write when I come across something that touches me emotionally. It could be incidents or accidents.

For instance, a few days back when a two year old boy fell into a bore well which was not closed for some reason, and after two days of struggle to save him, we failed. I had a strong urge to write. Because I had my daughter around the same age and I put myself in the shoes of the dead boy's mother. The guilt and helplessness would have killed her a thousand times. I bet, the pain she would have suffered is unimaginable.

Likewise 2 days back, I came across a news regarding a protest in Andhra Pradesh to ban a song (item number) by men. I was so surprised and curious and listened to it.

This song is name as “oo solriya mama.. oo oo solriya mama”. It's lyrical version was released in 5 languages. Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

The song basically revolves around the perception of men by women. Almost the entire song tells one basic content- Men only need SEX  from women irrespective of her attire, appearance     (thin- chubby, tall- short) .

Yes! My explanation about the song was too straight because the song itself is straight. I'm not here to comment on the song or curse the lyricist or judge the dancer. Neither support it.

I just want our fellow men to know that this is just a song like all other songs and it does not reflect even 1% of what women thinks about men( I strongly believe women agree to this).

WE DO RESPECT YOU THE WAY WE EXPECT YOU TO RESPECT US.

We do have fathers and brothers who we would not want  to accuse, like we want you to treat us like you treat your mothers and sisters. We are all human beings and we need to co exist on this planet earth.

Yes! This song is offending men's dignity, but there are a lot more songs which offend women's dignity even more. Come on!  Play cool! Traverse and go ahead. We have a lot more to rebel for.
