Painting is the practise of applying paint,pigment,color or other medium to a solid surface.The medium is commonly applied to the base with a brush,but other implements such as knives,sponges,and airbrushes,can be used.

                         In art,the term painting describes both the act and the result of the action paintings can be naturalistic and representational(as in still life and landscape paintings),photographic,abstract,narrative,symbol(as in symbol art),emotive (as in expressionism) or political in nature(as in art).

painting boosts self-esteem and inspires people to reach new levels of skill.painting also produces a relaxing ,open environmental  where artists feel safe reward of growing and expanding artistic skills creates a sense of accomplishment.elements of art: the visual component of color,form,line ,shape,space,texture and value may be two-or-three dimensional,descriptive,implied or abstract painting subjects usually fall into still life,landscape,seascape,portraiture,or abstract.there are many paintings styles ,including modernist,expressionist,classical,surreal,cubist,chinese style,abstract,impressionist and may more.style is basically the manner in which the artist portrays his or her subject matter and how the artist expresses his or her vision.style is determined by the characteristics that describe the 

art work ,such as the way the artist employs form color and composition ,to name just a few.acrylic paints are extremely versatile and ideal for fine brush work,glazing ,staining,water media techniques and many more .this smooth and light paint has excellent pigment quality,color,strength and durability the acrylic paint can be applied to almost any stable surface like watercolor paper or canvas.the two most basic paint types:oil-based and water-based.essentially,all the kinds or types of house paint used for home interiors,exteriors or trim and home or door either consist of acrylic ,water- based latex paint solutions ,or oil- based paint solutions,or blends.each of these paint types is used for different things .the seven different art forms are paintings,sculpture,literature,architecture,theater,film and music .the traditional way of looking art ,namely the visual arts ,suggest that there are five basic elements of an artwork  line,shape,color,texture and space.acrylic paper is thicker than average drawing paper and its textured surface is designed as an adherent surface for acrylic paint washes and layers perfect for plein-air painting ,sketching and final works ,acrylic paint pads can also be used for a variety of media other than acrylic paint. for painting i prefer to use acrylic based inks.they are easy to use,pigment based and thus light fast and  dries permanent .all acrylic inks are inter mixable regardless of brand name.so i definitely prefer acrylic paint for to use in paintings
