Mountain lovers always find a good place for trekking. But if you are going to do your first trekking, you should decide your destination wisely. So, here are top 5 treks for begginers in Indian Himalayas.

5. Bhrighu Lake

Situated at 14,107 feet, Bhrighu Lake is a very beautiful lake in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. It is a very famous high altitude meadow trek for beginners. The ideal time to visit Bhrighu Lake is May to October. You can see snow here in May to June time. After June, you can enjoy the green meadows. To go to Bhrighu Lake, you have to start your journey from Manali. T, you can start your trek from anyone of two base camps, Gulaba and Bashisht. This trek is a 4 days trek and about 26 km long.

4. Chopta Chandrashila Trek

Chandrashila is a summit in Uttarakhand. It's altitude is about 13,000 feet. In this trek you can visit world's highest Shiva temple, Tungnath. From the summit, you can see an amazing view of the Himalayas, including some famous peaks like Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba peaks. Rishikesh is used as the base camp of this trek. You can start your trekking for Sari or Chopta. The best time to visit Chandrashila is April-June (summer) and October-December (winter). In summer you can see green nature and colourful rhododendron flowers on your trail. And you can enjoy white snow in the winters. Chandrashila trek is approximately a 3-6 days trek.

3. Hamta Pass 

Hamta pass is located on the Pir Pranjal range in the Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh. It is a beautiful pass at the altitude of 14,000 feet. Hampta Pass is a small valley that connects the Kullu valley and Lahaul's Chandra valley. You can enjoy both snow and grassland in this trek. If you are lucky, you can also see many mountain flowers. Manali is the base camp of this trek. The best time for this trek is mid-June to mid-October. This trek is about 35 km long and takes about 4 days

Valley of Flowers is a national park at the altitude of 11,800 feet in Uttarakhand that gives you a magnificent view of rare endemic flowers. You can see more than 3,000 species of flowers in this trek. The base camp for this trek is Govindghat. The time for this trek is May-September. But to see the maximum number of flowers, visit this place in July and August. It is a 5-7 days trek.

1.Kedarkantha

Kedarkantha is one of the best winter treks in India but you can do this trek anytime in the year. At the altitude of 12,400 feet, this trek of Uttarakhand gives you one of the best snow trek and summit push. Sankri village is used as the base camp of this trek. You can enjoy the amazing forest trails in this trek and can see a beautiful lake called Juda ka Talab which becomes a frozen lake in winter. You can see an amazing views of the mighty Himalayas and the beautiful sunrise from the summit of Kedarkantha. Kedarkantha trek can be done at anytime in the year, but if you want too much snow, then December-Januari is the best time for you. But if you want a green forest trail, then you can visit in April-October. This trek is 6 days long.
