Mammootty's Hero In The Historical Kathal

Tamil film Jigarthanda Double X which hit the theaters only a few days ago says that cinema is the greatest weapon, we choose art not art chooses us. The hero Mammootty and the film Kathal have become the embodiment of that thought in Innita Thottipuram. At this stage of his career, Mammootty is an actor called Mammootty

At the core we see Mammootty at the peak of change, or the junction to its most interesting phase, called updation. On screen, Mammootty is both a hero and a hero. Although he has done other roles, Mammootty's male image is very important in his creation. At the core, Mammootty is trying to flip the image that he has made himself

Jio Baby is a director who uses cinema as a medium to say what he wants to say to the society. Jio Baby often talks about topics that are not ready to be discussed in public. But in general Jio Baby movies have a tendency to 'call and tell'. But when you get to the core, you don't see much of the Jio Baby that says so. Rather speaking frames are at the core

Mammootty's recent sincerity in choosing characters that excite him as an actor deserves the first round of applause. More than the doubt that an actor other than Mammootty would have done it, the significance of the historical assignment is that Mammootty himself should have done this film. While Mammootty makes the character of Mathew exquisite through the subtlety of his performance, Mammootty also helps convey the seriousness and importance of the subject of the film to the audience.Mammootty is Mathew Devasi, who is respected by the country and locals and addressed as sir.  Jyothika plays his wife and writer Omana.  The family consists of their daughter and Mathew's father Devasi.  The film goes to the core of Mathew and Omana's married life.  And it ends up getting to the core of Matthew.  Mammootty and Jyothika have acted in a very controlled manner.  The film tells the story in a steady rhythm and does not go into unnecessary drama even once.  Instead, the characters interact through subtle expressions

Kaathal The Core (2023/ Malayalam/ Prime): I strongly Recommend this film, which made me say "I Miss this Malayalam Cinema, which takes its time to bring its gems and when it comes, it strikes"—a gentle portrayal of a dysfunctional couple who seek out separation caused by homosexuality, where the narration has been kept simple with strong and layered characters. It carries themes which are contemporary, relevant and humane. I struggle with tears as I write this. I seriously don't remember the last time when a Malayalam film made me cry. Jeo Baby seals his position as one of the rare Indian filmmakers, who doesn't get carried away by the recent fame he is getting and he keeps it slow and takes time to come up with something that converses and conveys right into your heart. Many may contradict me, but I not only found this Mammooty riveting but also among his recent career's bests that come in line with 'Pathemari', 'Peranbu', 'Unda' and 'Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam'. Jyothika is a real feast whose act will make you feel for her and she provides great support to Mammooty. Easily one of the finest Malayalam films in recent times which also gave me a nice psychological therapy.
