One of the conspicuous differences between the Hollywood and Indian film industry is the lack of songs in the former. Yet, songs of both popular and not-much-known artists and bands are used in soundtrack of their films, TV shows, and series. Some of them are so good and that's the reason why I have a separate YouTube playlist for songs I found from English movies and series. So today I'm posting some of these delights that came along with them.
Quentin Tarantino's films are not just known for the director's distinctive filmmaking style, but also for some of the greatest and popular soundtracks. One of the best things about Quentin Tarantino's iconic Kill Bill is the opening credits with Nancy Sinatra's version of the song ‘Bang Bang’. The enchanting voice of Sinatra flowing along the tremolo guitar is a treat for the ears.
500 Days of Summer is an amazing movie that features some of the finest songs of various pop and indie bands in its soundtrack. The film has a wonderful cover version of The Smith's famous song ‘Let me get what I want' by She & Him. Both original and cover versions can stir so many emotions in us. In simple words, it is poetry with music.
The people/person tasked with choosing songs for Netflix's German series Dark, deserve all the happiness in this world. From the title song, ‘Goodbye’ by Apparet, to each and every song used in this series is a masterpiece. When ‘Melody X’ of Bonparte plays as the background of the montage sequence in episode 3 of season 2, it lifts us to another world.
This song is a gem just like the film Call Me By Your Name in which it was first featured. But the first time I heard it was in Netflix's Sex Education. Close your eyes and listen to this song, you could feel the invisible hands of love embracing you.
This song always reminds me of the times I used to watch movies on HBO and Star Movies. I think those times are nostalgic for every millennial. The ‘Secrets’ is the song played in the Tesla coil scene in The Sorcerer's Apprentice, a movie that was frequently screened on HBO. Gosh! those were the times.
Try these songs, I am sure you're gonna love them. Let me know if you did. See ya.
