It's been more than a year we're caged in our homes because of the pandemic doing nothing but becoming more and more sluggish with each passing day. Most of us did absolutely nothing, learned no new hobby, discovered no new interest, did nothing that adds skill to our personality. I mean, of course, we employed all our time binging the web series on the internet and scrolled a thousand miles on social media but was it worth anything? Try and think of at least 3 productive things you did in this lockdown. If you can't think of any that tells you have successfully ruined the time you had to develop yourself. And by you, I mean you and me together. Guilty for the same. But the last few months made me realise how important it is to have a hobby, have something to do when you feel low and want you uplift the mood.
But it's always better late than never. Still, we got this, my mates. Y'all can't deny the reality that we are going to rest at our homes for the next 4-5 months at least. This pandemic is not gonna take off soon seems. So why not start now? Be the person you always wanted to be when you get out of the pandemic. It is two months back when I realised that I am made for writing. I had no fondness for writing or blogging until one day when I tried my hands at it. And now here I am. So how I discovered my interest is something I feel I should share with the readers.
Find something that helps you forget your day and unwind. Explore new skills try everything possible because that is when you get to know what are you good at. It may be dancing, singing, cooking, painting, editing, gardening or absolutely anything. Utilize the time you have in your hand appropriately, make the best of it. From now never maintain a time when you regret what you are doing. Give a little stress to your mind and think about all the things you like doing, doing those make you optimistic. You know what you are capable of, it's just a matter of time before the magical wonders will start happening. Being busy does not mean being productive. Engage your time into the things you'll not regret in the future when you look back. There are hundreds and thousands of vocations around you, you just have to find yours. When you find one that doesn't mean you have to leave behind all other activities and just scramble behind that one thing. You are ought to make a balance of everything.
Look around your home you'll find a neglected hobby you've started but haven't complete. Pick a book lying in your house and start reading it. It may not interest you at first but wait till it does wonder to you. In my case, I wasn't a reader at first but my sister manipulated me into reading and now I can not resist the temptation of reading every day. Start the pursuit you've been avoiding till now. Educate yourself with new skills, take up new challenges because that's when you'll know your strengths and weaknesses. Start developing skills that prove useful in your career. Listen to your heart and be confident in what you do. Start loving yourself because you glow differently when you love yourself.
