Opportunity is a time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something. Opportunities are the good chance for advancement or progress. Opportunity is a favourable situation for positive outcome. You have to face many obstacles to grab an opportunity. Here's one such story.

It was a reign of King Ashoka. People lived happily under his reign he was very conscious in keeping them happy and considered the people under his reign as his own family. He took utmost care to fullfill every need of his fellowmen.

On one morning King Ashoka went around in order to check upon the welfare of his people. He saw each and everyone of them happy but none of them were hardworking they were all lazy. This made the King to think on how to make his people come out of laziness. He stopped giving incentives, he stopped all the unnecessary facilities he had given for the people. Even after stopping this people were okay with it. They had sufficient food to eat and they were lazy as usual.

So King Ashoka thought of a plan he asked the soldiers to place a huge boulder in the middle of the area. People were wondering about this and wasn't concerned as the boulder didn't block the way completely but almost half of the way was covered. King again sent a notice saying the people who moves this boulder will not be rewarded instead he/she will be considered as the best citizen of the year. This made people even more careless about the boulder as there wasn't any reward for moving it. 

Once a poor farmer was passing by the boulder and saw people travelling through half way and struggling a bit instead of moving the boulder. Poor Farmer considered it as an opportunity to help people. He tried very hard and at the end he moved the boulder to other end of the road and made path for people to travel easily. He saw a note aa well as a bag laying in the place where boulder earlier did. Farmer read the note and was extremely happy as it was written whoever moves this boulder with all his efforts considering as an opportunity completely have the right to claim 10000 gold coins inside the bag. Farmer was filled with lots of happiness.

King got to know on how the Poor Farmer moved the boulder. He considered him as the citizen of the year and praised him. Later, the people were guilty of their mistakes and promised to use every opportunity that comes in their life instead of being lazy.
