Guilty! Guilty! Yes I am guilty. Oh yes, you are guilty too, aren't you?
Well in my defense, I thought it was an easy way out, you understand me right? If I HAVE ( yes it's intentional to write “have” in all caps! ) to read 7 articles a day to get the bonus points that are eventually going to get me paid, why not kill two birds with a single arrow right?
I will let you all in on a dirty secret, everyday I would wake up, open the Candlemonk website, read 7 articles throughout the day, and even though there were some articles that needed some good directions or a word of wisdom or a little extra work on those articles, I would completely ignore that and write “ Hey, you have an amazing writing style (even though SOME (again intentional) of them weren't). You have a long way to go, I have followed you, and I hope you do the same ”. I would like their blog right after. Probably after reading this, they decide to follow me, well may be because I praised them and followed them . AND THAT WAS SO GODDAM EASY!!!
Now, a little self realization, I opened a profile on Candlemonk, because of my love for writing, not because I wanted to earn. When I ask people to follow me and they do, they do it because I was kind enough to follow them, however every follow back that I got wasn't because of my writings. Now the 104 followers that I have, there must be some people who followed me just to return the favor, and not because my writing touched them in any way, and that is supremely sad guys.
I am not at all demoralizing myself or any of you in any manner, I am sure, some people did follow me because my words might have made them smile, or my blogs must have inspired them to write too. That's what matters right? That's what makes you smile too. Before you sleep, you have a sense of satisfaction that, whatever you wrote on your blog, it made someone feel good.
Let's do a little research, After you read this blog, and like it and follow me (only if you actually like it and want to follow me), go to some other article, and see their comment section and all you would see are copy paste comments of please follow me! Does that make you happy? People do not have their views about that particular post, they just want a follow back.
If you are reading this, follow someone because of their writing, not because they followed you too. Let the comment section be filled with wisdom, thoughts, love, support and guidance and not jus “FOLLOW ME BECAUSE I FOLLOWED YOU”
Today onwards I make a pledge to follow all the rules that this platform has, and get organic likes and followers. I hope you do the same.
LOTS OF LOVE AND POWER TO EVERYONE WHO IS HERE ❤
I want follow backs too ! BUT FOR THE RIGHT REASONS !
