Gavi the village is located in the Pathanamthitta district. The name Gavi is what I first heard and saw through the Malayalam movie Ordinary. Gavi is a nature-friendly tourist destination that attracts many tourists. Most of the visitors who come here are nature lovers or adventure lovers. Gavi has also earned the title of one of the must-see places in India.Gavi offers visitors a tranquil retreat into the heart of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. It features trekking, wildlife watching, outdoor camping, and overnight forest tours.
Gavi mesmerizes visitors with its breathtaking natural beauty. The region is adorned with dense forests of tropical evergreens, punctuated by sprawling grasslands and crystal-clear streams. Towering trees, including teak, rosewood, and cardamom, dominate the landscape, providing a habitat for a myriad of flora and fauna.
On the way to Gavi, we see tea plantations on both sides of the roads. Also, places like Mundakayam, Kuttikanam, Peerumedu, and Vandiperiyar make the trip to Gavi beautiful.
On reaching Gavi we will be sheltered and hosted by Kerala Forest Development Corporation's Ecolodge 'Green Mansion'. From the Green Mansion, you can enjoy the forests near Gavi Lake, the houses built on top of the trees, and pitching tents in the forest. Go boating on Gavi Lake and watch the sunset. Gavi will be a new experience for the visitors
Abundant with various flora and fauna, Gavi is filled with hills, plains, grasslands, rice paddies, waterfalls and cardamom plantations, all of which are a treat for the eyes. The Gavi region is also home to endangered species of lion-tailed monkeys, striped yaks and hornbills. This Gavi is a paradise for bird watchers.

A short trek from Gavi is enough. Those who love forest treks can also travel to Kallar, Gavi Pullumedu, Kochupamba, and Pachakanam.
Camping inside the forest is allowed in Gavi. With official guides, go deep into the forest. As dusk gives way to the solitude of night, the presence of wildlife in the empty spaces adjacent to the tent will be an unforgettable experience for visitors. There are also accommodation facilities in tree houses.
We get the help of locals and local hill tribes in all activities there. By knowing the forest and protecting the forest, the Gavi project helps protect the area.
Gavi is a tourist destination that must be visited at least once in a lifetime. Gavi will influence us so much that once we see it, we will not be able to forget it.
