Orgasms: How they work?..can women have orgasms? Are they same for both sexes or different? misconceptions.
What is an orgasm?
It is the feeling one has at the peak of sexual excitement or pleasure. The intense feeling or the feeling of release accompanied by ejaculation ..
Both men and women experience orgasms . However until recently it was known and considered normal that woman can't experience orgasms..
Orgasms work same for both men and women…
It is when a woman is stimulated physically or psychologically. There is an increase in the blood flow to the vulva causing it to swell ,glands near the vaginal wall secret lubricating fluid , there is an increase in heart rate , blood pressure and breathing.
It is the phase that lasts until the brink of orgasm ..
It is the intense feeling of pleasure or release.. due to contractions of muscles.
In women It lasts longer as compared to men …with an average of 13 -51 seconds. In women orgasms are not necessarily accompanied by ejaculation.
It is the Rest phase during which the person can't experience another orgasm.
Though some women do not have a resolution period thus they can have further orgasms giving rise to the concept of multiple orgasms ( lucky peeps😭).
It is when a man is stimulated physically or psychologically , which causes erection . Blood flow to the penis increases causing it to grow in size and become rigid .
Blood pressure & breathing increase.. muscles of thigh and buttocks tense up.
Contractions in the pelvic floor muscles leads to ejaculation of semen( 5% sperm & 95% fluid). It lasts for about 10- 30 seconds.
Men have a longer refractory period as compared to women ..the duration varies from person to person and can last from a few minutes to days.
___
~ there are multiple disorders related to orgasms in all genders.
In women there's a condition known as ‘Anorgasmia’ - the inability to have an orgasm .
In men most commonly known condition is ‘premature ejaculation’ - where a man ejaculates within one minute of penetration.
~the journey to having an orgasm is different for each person .. there's no reason to compare your experiences with others.. and orgasms are not the sole purpose of sexual intercourse ,rather people enjoy the feeling of being connected to someone.
