The world's richest man JEFF BEZOS along with his friend have bought the mountain in Texas to build a large clock. The Amazon CEO is building a 10,000 year clock inside the mountain. The mechanical clock is under the construction and their is no completion time of this big project . Jeff has invested around $42 million in the manufacturing and site construction of the project till now.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM CLOCK

• The height of the clock is around 500 ft.
• This clock will be going to tell the time for the next 10,000 years and that's why it is called as Millennium clock.
• The huge mechanical clock will ticks once per year and chimes ( melodious sound from bell ringing of clock ) once per millennium.
• It is going to be powered by day/night thermal cycles and synchronized at solar noon.

HISTORY

The project was conceived by DANNY HILLIS in 1986. The first prototype of the clock began working on December 31,1999. Danny Hillis is a computer scientist and an entrepreneur who first imagined in his brainchild about the 10,000 year clock.

BASIC DESIGN AND PRINCIPLES OF MILLENNIUM CLOCK

• LONGEVITY - The clock should be accurate even after 10,000 years and it must not contain any valuable parts ( such as Jewels, expensive metals , or special alloy ) that might be looted.

• MAINTAINABILITY - Future generations should be able to keep the clock running and Bronze Age tools and materials should be use in it.

• TRANSPARENCY - The clock should be understandable without stopping and disassembling it and all the functionality should not be opaque.

• EVOLVABILITY - It should be possible to improve the clock over time.

• SCALABILITY - Small prototypes must be built and tested to ensure the working of final large clock properly.

PURPOSE 

The purpose of building this clock is to be sufficiently well impressive and well engineered. It should be charismatic to visit , interesting to think about , and famous enough to become iconic between people.

This clock will  going to be the most famous sight seeing between the tourists but the cost of building this clock is going to be much higher what the common man never thinks about it.
