Introduction:
During the Mesozoic Era, about 245 million years ago, Dinosaurs are a diverse group of reptiles (which are larger) that were dominant terrestrial life form on earth. The name “dinosaur” comes from the Greek words deinos ("terrifying" or “fearfully great”) and saurus ("reptile" or “lizard”). Dinosaurs lived on all of the continents. At the beginning of the age of dinosaurs (known as Triassic period, 230 million years ago) all the continents were arranged together as a single super-continent called "Pangea". Dinosaur community is separated by both time and geography. There are roughly 700 known species of extinct dinosaurs. In terms of longevity, dinosaurs are one of the most successful group of animals that have ever lived, evolved into many diverse shapes and sizes, with many equally diverse modes of living. Dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago, after living on earth for about 165 million years. After the dinosaurs died out, nearly 65 million years passed before people appeared on earth.
Paleontologists are like detectives who examine the evidence left by extinct animals. The discovery of some dinosaur eggs and nests provided the evidence for the behavior of some dinosaurs.
