Hi Friends!!! i am back with all new information, which really excites you and of course its knowledge gaining too… Have you ever wondered how animals communicate with their fellow-mates?! I did. So, I worked on it and today I am going to share some interesting things about the animals communication. Before knowing the things, let me start with a small introduction.
So, what do you mean by communication?. Different ways to communicate?. Like humans, animals also need it? the answer is yes!!!.
Communication (from Latin communicare, meaning “to share”) means the exchange of information by speaking, writing or using some other medium. Like humans, animals also communicate in their unique way to ask for help, share food, show love & care etc..,. The study of animal communication is known as Zoosemiotics.
With no further delay let's get in to the topic:-
a) When a bee finds food, it alerts other bees by dancing.
b) An ant do express “danger ahead” by secreting chemicals.
c) Elephants greet each other by entwining their trunks.
d) Dolphins make some sounds like Whistles, squeaks, clicks to communicate.
e) Carnivorous fish named Piranhas can bark.
f) A lion's roar can hear miles away. It tells other lions that “This is my piece of land”.
g) Zebras may use their unique stripes to help identify each other.
f) An adult male Walrus use their air pouch in its throat to call out to female Walrus.
g) Marine animals and plants, even though they can see and hear, they mostly ‘talk’ to each other using chemical signals or cues.
h) Some fish use color to communicate their readiness for breeding or virility. E.g., Cherry Barb fish become more red and fan their fins to impress the females.
i) Snakes are known for being solitary creatures, so their need and ability to communicate is limited.
j) Crocodiles do not have vocal cords, but they can hiss, grunt, growl, cough to convey wide range of meanings.
k) The voice is often the most noticeable form of bird communication. The usual sounds they make to communicate are drums, singing, gurgles, howls, gulps, pops, rattles and many other sounds.
l) The range of sounds chickens make is wide and somewhat open to human interpretation. Some of the sounds are crowing, cackling, chucking, perp-perping, rebel-yelling, and other noises. Interesting is each sound has different meaning say, Cackling sound(loud calling noise to call other hens) is made by hens after they lay an egg. And some people call this cackling sound as signal of pride.
So that's it for today friends. I believe you all liked it and useful. Will come up with more interesting facts and topics. If you have any suggestions regarding my writing or topics which you all want me to write let me know in below comments section. I will try my level best to deliver functional information, which is knowledge gaining. Have a good day. Take care. Thank you!!!
