The Short Version:
Kang Tae-mu (Ahn Hyo-seop) has been working for GO Food, the company started by his grandpa, Kang Da-goo (Lee Deok-hwa), in other countries. He worked in an overseas office before returning to Korea to be established as the company's president. His granddad regards him as a workaholic since he is serious and detail-oriented.
Even on his first day as president, he sends his chief of staff, Cha Sung-hoon (Kim Min-kyu), to deliver a cursory statement saying that he doesn't have time for all of this formality. Shin Ha-ri (Kim Se-jeong) attends the ceremony, a relatively new researcher who was not at the company the last time Tae-mu was in Korea. She has had a crush on Lee Min-woo (Song Won-seok) since their university days, and when he calls her on her birthday, she cancels her birthday dinner plans with her coworkers and goes straight to the chef's restaurant.
“ What if he's planning to transfer from the friendship line to the boyfriend express ?” Ha-ri's bestie Jin Young-seo (Seol In-ah) wonders. He isn't, but she leaps into his arms and smashes a cake destined for some of his finest clients. Chairman Kang wants his grandson to find a wife, so he arranges for Tae-mu to go on blind dates with women from some of Seoul's most powerful business families. Tae-mu is adamantly opposed to it, but after much coaxing, decides to go on the first one. Young-seo finds out she's going on a blind date with the son of a business family, and she despises these situations, so she begs Hari to accompany her.
When she arrives, she realises the date is with her company's president. So she does everything she can to throw him off, acting insane and talking about the men in her life. None of this deters him; he even accepts her offer to obtain a room. Following the date, he informs Sung-hoon that he wishes to marry Young-seo. He appreciates her honesty, she comes from a good background, and it will get his grandfather off his back. When Young-seo learns of this, she convinces Ha-ri to meet with him and inform him that she is not interested. Ha-ri tries one more time to convince her that he's a terrific catch. Let's just say that things become a little more difficult from there.
