Hi all, Iam here today writing my first blog sharing my thoughts on life and success. What does Success mean? One question I kept asking myself all my life. The dictionary says, being successful means achievement of desired visions and planned goals. Shortly, “attaining wealth, prosperity and/or fame”. The Truth is we all believe it. Even I did.
During my schooling days, I had a scheduled calendar of 365 days and alarm of time periods pre-set in my mind, of course no smartphones and technologies were needed since I believed this difficult time will be giving me a better and happy future. But that was not the case, I completed my schooling with the desired marks and got into my bachelors and 5years was spent with same prefixed calendar days and this time even my nights were taken & sleep was sacrificed. Even after graduation with university ranking, I am still here asking myself what my real goal and what does success mean?
The biggest lie that I was told was success is about achievement of desired goals, but it was not and by the time I realised it, I was 24 already who lost my childhood, adolescence and still wondering what is going on? What does success mean? The only person who can answer the question for you is you. Success cannot be measured with factors like wealth, tangibles, earned degrees. We all have to understand that people had lived for centuries even without Technlogies, transport, glass houses, air conditioners etc, but still they were successful to be followed upon as an inspiration in our history books today. If acquiring material things, achieving recognised status by society is the means of measuring success then it has no end, the more we acquire it, more we become less satisfied and more we wanted. It's never enough.
The only person who can say whether you are successful or not is you. Success is when you grow old, look back at your memories and still smile at it. Success isn't what you have achieved; it's an emotion that satisfies your soul. Every person who has lived well, loved more, laughed often, enjoyed the trust of pure love; appreciated others intelligence, win the respect of every soul, who always looked for best in others, is a successful person and always an inspiration. It's about now and the excitement to create memories for tomorrow. You have to discover the true meaning of being there. I realised that a satisfied life is the real success, because our success is measured by others, but satisfaction is measured by our own mind, heart and soul. I no longer want to blame the past, my background and my surrounding. I am happy at the moment and excited for tomorrow. I have discovered myself and my life and to sum it up in three words, Life Goes On……
