Directed by the Watchowskis who were behind The Matrix Trilogy and Babylon 5 is enough to be excited about the Netflix show Sense8.

This show has got an IMDB rating of 8.3 but, the reason the same is considered underrated is that it did not get as much as the audience during the period the same has aired from 2015 - 2018 when compared to the other shows on Netflix with lower ratings. The show later got a commentable fanbase, when I say fanbase, remember they were capable enough to bring back the once cancelled show on Netflix!!

Genre 

Although the dominant genre to which this belongs is Sci-Fi, it is a combination of Sci-Fi, Mystery, Thriller & Drama.

Plot

The thread is, on one particular day, 8 people from different cities- Chicago, San Francisco, Mexico, London, Berlin, Nairobi, Mumbai, Seoul - around the world - got themselves being connected. They started feeling what the others feel. Joy, pleasure, anger, sadness everything. They could even access each others knowledge, language and skills. The question is how come all of a sudden they got it? How their life is going to change? And is it a boon or curse?

Production

The show is one among the highest production cost category in the history of Netflix. The reason the same was cancelled at one particular point was also in the name of huge production costs. Remember Game of Thrones which was considered as of very high production cost at that time, was 6 Million per episode whereas sense 8 was 9 Million per episode!! If you want to know why the amount is huge, go on watch it to get a clue.

Characters

Honestly, when I was hooked to the show I felt myself one among the cluster (of 8 people). The actors have done an appreciable job in making the character's life connected and relatable to the audience.

There are certain other things which I can't refrain myself to mention is the cinematography and supporting cast. The show did a marvellous job in telling a story which is quite unusual and difficult to explain.

My Take

Even though the main thread of the story tells the science with incredible precision, I found the individual lives of the characters more fascinating, realistic and grounded.

Finally, one more thing to mention is the series contains nudity, sex and confrontational level of violence. If you can not cope up with any of those, you should better avoid this one.

There aren't much I could have told you without a spoiler alert. So, if you are planning to go for a new show, this hidden gem would be a perfect choice without regret.
