Hi guys, I'm Akira, coming up with a special topic- work from home or work from office. Let's discuss about the pros and cons of both the system.
This is today's scenario. Both Work from home as well as work from office or even Hybrid type is also followed. The question is how are the employees or the company benefitted from this or is the system needs to be reviewed.
So let's start with work from home system.
Due to COVID-19, the work from home system was followed by almost every company. Mostly the female employees especially the working mothers found it quite helpful for them so that they need not worry about their children who had online classes would be right in front of their sight. They could complete their household chores and start their office work without changing into their formals as they didn't have to meet their boss or their colleagues in person. They could attend the meetings at stipulated time or do their jobs at their own pace yet catering their family needs.
Though they missed their friends/colleagues, they could sort out many problems over phone/laptop. Even the transportation to and from office could be avoided. No traffic jams, no hurry burry. Could work comfortably right in front of their loved ones monitoring them. Now coming to the cons of WFH;
People complain that there are no fixed timings to end the day's work. Its only a pause for doing any personal works and that they need to stay for long working hours by which they become more stressed out. Sometimes they feel that when they need any clarifications it is not so easy since the interaction between employees are not so convenient as the other person has his/her own working timing as per their convenience. So sometimes important tasks are becoming quite difficult to achieve. Especially when the deadline targets are to be achieved.
Mothers complain they are expected too much from their family, children watch TV or stare at the mobiles continuously which was once forbidden. No control over the gadgets and moreover they are unable to concentrate on their tasks. Its as if they are right in front of their children, but cannot put a check on their activities.
On the counter part of working from office, they need to depend on nannies for their children care which many a times seems not pleasing or safer. At the end of the day they come home to see their loved ones poorly fed or properly taken care, though the caretakers are paid heavy amounts. But the working environment at the office is really good compared to home as they can get clarifications or find solutions within no time and even the timelines are met satisfactorily. Group discussions are done for reviews and betterment.
So finally guys we can conclude that the hybrid system which is working from home for three days and two days from office is the ideal one for good growth of company as well as the employees and by following the work-life balance method, both can be benefited.
