Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana ,an Indian cricketer ,a left handed batsman as well as right -arm medium bowler in Indian Women's national team.She was born on 18th of july,1996 in Mumbai .Her father Shrinivas Mandhana,a chemical distributor and also a former district level cricketer.She completed her education in sangli,maharshtra.Her elder bother Shravan Mandhana is also a district level cricketer.She belongs to a family of cricketers because of that she made her mind to play cricket by getting inspired from his elder brother .
At her very early age of nine,she was selected in Maharshtra's Under-15 team and at the age of 11 she was selected for Maharshtra's Under 19s team in 2007.In september 2016, she was signed up for 1 year deal with Brisbane heat for women's big bash league with other famous women cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur.She is the only second indian cricketer to feature in foreign T20 league has a world cup century against her name.Announcement of the young player by herself was done at the domestic stage with debut of 155 runs against saurashtra.
She made her T20 and ODI debut at age of 16 and has been playing international cricket for 4 years.She has been the youngest player to lead Indian Women's team in T20s or (short format) of cricket.She had made history by hitting most centuries and runs in Womesn's championship.She has created a milestone by achieveing second fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in T20s.Till now she has played 81T20s,3 tests and 59ODIs in her career.While I am writing this blog she must been on the field and creating new milestones.
Her first breakthrough was in october 2013 when she became first indian woman to hit a double - century in one -day game.She was the first Indian women to play Kia Super League.She has got several titles also on social networking sites,by media and by famous cricketers too.She was titled as “Hobart Hurricanes”in women's big bash league.In 2020 she got the title of National Crush of India after when her picture got viral from filed on social media.On her birthday,yesterday twitter reacts as her Superwoman because of her mesmerizing catches and fielding.
In 2018,BCCI awarded her as Best women's international cricketer in June,2018 and in december ,2018 she was awarded with Rachael Heyhoe-Flint award for best women cricketer of the year and also ODI player of the year at same time.In 2019,she was awarded with Arjuna Award.She was also awarded with Navbharat times award,Vogue sportsperson of the year,BBC top 100 women list etc.She has always been social media sensation since 2017-18.Whenever she is on the ground ,she is always an apple in the eyes of her fans.She will always be an inspiration for the indian women becuase of her dedication towards her sportsmanship.She has a great fan following becuase of her attitude ,style and her gracious nature on field.
