India is one of the most populated country in the world. As said; India is the most secular country too. In India we can find different caste ,religion and sex but they aren't treated equally. There should be some law under which every people of India should be under the same umbrella. There should be no discrimination under any personal laws of any religion. Gender discrimination persists in our society despite being prohibited in our constitution. After Independence it has been the most debated topic in Parliament but after 75 years of Independence also we haven't came to any decision. But the ruling govt has showed some hope and added in their manifesto and let's see whether we come up with positive result or not.
Uniform Civil Code is mentioned under Article 44 of the constitution of India under Directive Principles of state policy. Last week also Delhi High court urges Central govt to take steps to bring UCC. There has been different cases which urges for implementation of Uniform Civil Code. Like Satprakash Meena vs Alka Meena where they were prohibited from The Hindu Marriage Act 1955 as they were schedule tribes. One of the important case is Shah Bano case where she went to SC in urges of Talaq from her Husband but all the Muslim personal boards and laws came against her .Later on Triple Talaq Law was explained.
In this 21st century every country has a Uniform civil code to rule the country but it's prohibited only in India. Goa is the only state in India which has a Uniform civil code with all the personal laws irrespective of any particular religion. This Uniform Civil code is all about giving priority to the individual's rights over community right. These laws mainly focus on interpersonal things like marriage, divorce etc. Especially for women this is one of the important right because in India at every second a women is being harassed and made feel inferior in front of men. And all the old famous cases are proves that this law is the necessity for every women in our country.
This law is just only has been discussed and not has been implemented just because of vote bank politics. But this should not been followed because it is very much needed to stop the crime against women or any particular religion , castes etc. As our Constitution has provided us- RIGHT TO EQUALITY; every Indian citizen should get equal right and treated equally. This law will help in the integrity of India .It is little bit tough to implement any law for country like India as it is largely populous but in the same aspect it is one of the benificial law for any populous country. It is a major requirement for any young population country .
