Hello Readers, After a long time I am back with My new Blog .First of all I would like to apologize for not being active for several days due to lack of time. So ,I have came around with a very interesting topic - “Digital Amnesia”; which is very common in our new normal life and especially after this Covid-19. Let me introduce about the topic ;the word digital is something which is everyone used to but what amnesia lead to ?? Amnesia is a medical condition in which a person losses his/her memory (it can be any facts, experiences, information etc.) Digital Amnesia is loss of memory because of excess access to digital assets .Presently everyone has an access of smartphones which is one of the biggest threat for young population because the addiction of smartphones is causing excessive loss of memory and it has been found in research also that youngsters has been always complaining about their memory loss that they have learnt something and next day they forget.
Due to pandemic most of the people got work from home and classes of schools and colleges shifted on a smartphone and laptop which increased the screen time for small children to adults and made us fully dependent on digital world. In our day to day life we can see the effect of Digital Amnesia very precisely ;like various days after a continuous online work or a longer screen time make us very irritated; we can find this in small kids also who are very much addicted to see the cartoons and videos ;if they will not get during their meals they don't eat and get irritated ,cry etc. I can share my very own experience ;last year on 1st January I had continuous 4 online papers and I was exhausted and I had a good fight and i was just yelling on everyone and everyone got frustrated from me.
According to survey one third of the Americans are suffering from Digital Amnesia which is very harsh to think about it. Digital Amnesia and smartphones hampers our learning skills because it does not allow to form new memories and also not let us retain with our old memories. This is making our brain working very slow and we are not able to store any information for longer duration. It hampers our sleeping to balanced diet also. Increase in screen time is inversely proportional to IQ level; the more the screen time less the IQ level ,According to University Of London.
Ways to overcome the Digital Amnesia:- 1.We should not carry our phone on bed at night and also we should stop using phone before 1 hour of sleep. 2.Should have deep and proper sleeping which enhances the activity of working of brain. 3.Have proper balanced diet. 4.Try to avoid the social networking sites; it's essential that (especially youngsters )that you should be available on every social sites for most of your hours as neither they are paying you for that. 5.Make your small kids avoid the smartphones and as there brains are getting develop, it damages their brains working.
