First, I would like to share some simple and Straightforward facts for our younger audience. Use these fun facts as a starting point and let your students explore the topic a bit more! Earth is our home! Our earth is about 4.5 billion years old! They have been around for a long time!
Earth is the third planet from the Sun. The earth revolves around the sun! In our solar system in space he had eight planets.(One more if you add Pluto!) Earth is the fifth largest planet in the solar system. Earth is the only known planet with humans! Over 71% of the Earth's surface is covered with water! More than half! Like the earth is a ball she rotates over her 365 times in a year. The earth travels around the sun every years!
EARTH HISTORY
The first Earth day was in 1970 Earth is called the blue planet or ocean planet, because we have so much water. Earth's inner core is made of iron! What's the great things about solar system and universe? It seemingly never ends. Scientists say it is constantly expanding! So, by that standard, there will always be something new to learn about and discover. When most parents and teachers were growing up, Pluto was considered a planet! Students used to learn that there were nine planets! Now, it is taught in school that there are only eight(sorry Pluto!). Scientists and experts are constantly learning new things about our planet and our solar system.

Earth is 93 million miles from the Sun! The diameter of the Earth is 7917.5 miles. Approximately 25000 miles in circumference! The earth is covered with water, but only 3% is fresh water. So 97% is salt water! The air we breathe is a mixture of gases. These gases are nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and carbon dioxide. We couldn't live without them! The Earth's atmosphere is made up of six layers. These layer are called the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermospehere, exosphere, and ionosphere. Earth is a terrestrial planet. This means that it is a planet made of rock and metal, with a hard surface. Other terrestrial and rocky planets include Venus, Mars, and Mercury.
