Often a thought comes and leaves us skipping a beat, a breath, leaving a beautiful smile and a lot of power.
So, for this time, it is -
It is not always mandatory, that you need a label. You are born a human, not some boy, not some girl, neither trans, nor straight. You need to understand, you may not need a label to define what are you, what you are going to be, you don’t need to make your struggle one way, you just need to give your best, no matter what way you are destined.
A few months ago I wrote a poem, it said -
'What all they say
Is
Be you
But what if
I don't want to be
What I am.
What if
I go
Beyond the norms
The parameters
That are
Socially constructed
Would I be allowed
To keep the choice
I made
To stand with me
To live life
On my terms
Would i
Be accepted
As I am!
Coz
I remember
They once said
Be you ...'
After reading it, a pal of mine asked me what made me write such content, if I am a hetero or homo, I don’t understand why people link things as if I am talking divorce, I am the one divorcing, it can be that if I am talking divorce, I am the one deserted or even it can be that I’m so happily married that I want to focus on what can cause divorce so that I may not allow such circumstances to occur.
Well, I replied, ‘maybe I am talking about those humans, struggling with themselves, for they are all the way going against those societal norms, arbitrarily created for I don’t know what purpose to fulfill. Or maybe I want to make people realize, what they can be, and what they are struggling with is not wrong. ‘to add on I just stated, baby we are the universe in the ecstatic motion. (and yeah I do believe in this)
I don’t know what one might think of such concepts, please mind, I am not labeling anyone of being coward or anything, but what’s important is, to be honest, and true not to others but to yourself. Standing for self is no crime, but a good deed to yourself. And amazing it would be, to stand for someone else too, struggling with the same path you chose.
And believe me, These thoughts make you say, you are breathtaking, babe!
