How many of us can say no to the check that can be used to buy a tiny house in Mumbai? And would someone refuse a check that someone gave you as a return gift because your gift inspired them? The biggest thing is that that check was given by Ratan Tata himself? Will anyone dare to do it when he is 29 years old, the family lives in a slum, the mother has worked as a maid servant all her life and now she is old and sick and the wife and The child looks at her expectantly? Others do not know, but Nilesh Mohite definitely told no to Ratan Tata and talked about giving some work in return. Tomorrow from September 24 to October 12, Nilesh will be seen in the Art Gallery of Taj Hotel. You must be wondering who is Nilesh and what will he do at a place where only billionaires and millionaires can go? Here is his story.

When Nilesh was five years old and lived in a village in Raigad district, his father gave him one of his Sal's sister and her mother left Lata and left. All three of them came to Mumbai and Lata started working as a maid living in an 8 by 8 slum of Machhimar Colony. Living in an expensive city, working in multiple households and raising children was not easy. This affected Lata's health. When Nilesh reached class IX, he had to drop out of school. He started working as an office boy for two hours in the morning and after that he would go to night school after working in another office. But when he had to work as a waiter for some celebrations and high profile dinners for Rs 150, he would miss his classes. But he had one passion, which is often typical of high society – sketching and painting. There was not even a place to keep the necessary things in their slum, they would sit in the corner of the road and it is not easy. As soon as I got time I started painting. In the meantime, he got the job of a waiter in the Cricket Club of India. One day his supervisor saw him sketching on a paper napkin and he told him about it.

Why did he not heed the guest's request to have tea? But the guests themselves wanted to see what they were doing. Amazed by his art, he said, What is it doing as a waiter. He introduced him to many rich and famous people who wanted art work. He got assignments. The industrialists offered him money, but he refused. Ratan Tata had always caught his attention, so he sketched him as he entered an aeroplane. He wanted to gift it to her, but never got a chance to meet her. Eventually he got the sketch sent to him as a birthday gift through a local person who was in touch with Tata. After this he got the check from Tata, which he refused to take. His solo art exhibition is starting from tomorrow at Taj Hotel, which is accessible to every artist.
