The Fault In Our Stars: Book Review

The Fault  in Our Stars by John Green was published on January 10, 2012.

Hazel Grace Lancaster is the narrator of the story.

Hazel Grace Lancaster is diagnosed with thyroid cancer (stage 4) and is alive because of Phalanxifor, a drug that does not work in 70% of the cases but surprisingly works for her. She is, well, breathing with difficulty because her lungs suck at being lungs, but breathing nevertheless. Hazel has been terminal ever since diagnosed and is under oxygenated. She feels like a grenade and wants to minimize the casualties when she blows up. Also, she is looking for new owners for her lonely, vaguely pedophilic swing set which seeks the butts of children.

Augustus Waters is a tenured professor in the department of slightly crooked smiles with a dual appointment in the department of having a voice that makes your skin feel more like skin. He is a hot, gorgeous twist in her story, a story that is about to be rewritten. He is the boy who stares with blue eyes, walks on one real and one prosthetic leg, puts the killing thing between his teeth but does not give it the power to do it's killing and is a horrible driver.

Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters are a match made 'Literally, in the heart of Jesus.'

This book will make you smile, laugh, love so hard only to make you cry, cry so hard, because that's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt.

Just Hazel and Gus are a definition of forever. A forever within numbered days. Okay.

It's a story that will pull you so deep that the thought of ever resurfacing will never enter your mind.

It's a story that will hurt you, hurt you so much but then again,

"You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices."

(The choice of reading this book)

It's a story that is infinite. No matter how small the infinity is.

John Green has justified the title one hundred percent.

Fasten you seatbelts and join the rollercoaster ride that only goes up, my friend.
