The best still life paintings are the ones that can engage the viewers like a deep trap. Paul Cézanne(1839-1906) is one of the artists who has mastered this genre of painting. He was a French artist who took the concept of still life to the next end and has changed the world with his style. This kind of painting will not let your eyes engage in anything else rather than the beauty of the object. It’s not as boring as it looks . His extraordinary sense of colours and blending gives the paintings a special touch
His extraordinary style of painting
Paul Cézanne is the greatest painter of the post-impressionism art movement. His style was very different from the normal impressionist painters who wanted to capture the essence of the moment in their work. He is also known as the father of post-impressionism. He experimented with many impressionist styles but soon grew away from them. He wanted to experiment with more and more styles and developed a style of his own. His style of art was very sculptural and architectural which made him stand out.
He wanted to paint nature as it viewed by the human eye. Every brushstroke in his painting depicted the structural integrity of the view.
He felt the presence of the canvas and abstracted it. He broke the complex shapes that he encountered while painting and portrayed them as simple shapes like cubes, cuboids, spheres and cylinders. He used colours and converted them into gradients that are professionally blended together. He presented his approach to look like he was painting an object when it was viewed from all angles. He restricted himself from the classical perspective and went on to believe that perspective should be based on the relation between an object and a point.
He was a great artist of post-impressionist era and proved to influence the people from other movements too. His paintings were not appreciated at that time but he gave a different angle to art and creative thinking. His painting style challenged all definitions of art at that time and gave everyone a new perspective of that field. Cezanne worked deliberately and slowly. It was his absorption in the process that pushed his work towards details, excellence, and abstraction.
