World Veterinary Day is celebrated on April 30, 2016, the last Saturday of April every year.  The beginning has been celebrated since the year 2000.  The aim of the World Veterinary Association is to discuss the resistance of the bacteria found in animals to medicines and to make people aware of diseases.  The theme of World Veterinary Day in the year 2010 was' One World, One Health: More collaboration between veterinarians and physicians.  The official website is updated.  World Veterinary Day of the year 2010 was observed on 24 April.  World Veterinary Day is being celebrated by the World Veterinary Association since the year 2000.  On the occasion of World Veterinary Day, the resistance of medicines to bacteria found in animals in veterinary hospitals is discussed and people are made aware about it.

World Veterinary Day was celebrated on 27 April 2016 at Village Mamanpura, Directorate of Extension Education, Luwas Hisar.  According to the convenor of the program, Dr. Devendra Singh, on this occasion, farmers awareness and seminar was held on the subject of health promotion due to human-animal-environment interdependence.  During this period, the villagers were made aware about the environmental hygiene caused by diseases from animals to humans.

On the occasion of World Veterinary Day, on 16 05 2015, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry College, Mhow Indore organized a huge rally and human chain led by Dr. Umesh Kumar Garg, the city head, and spread diseases from animals to humans such as bird flu  A message was sent in the form of awareness among the people towards prevention of swine flu, etc. and animal health welfare.  The rally was launched by S.D.M.  It was flagged off by Mr. Vijay Kumar Aggarwal.  A large number of students, faculty and staff of the college attended the rally.  Lectures were given by Dr. Jairao and Dr. Sachin Audarya on the disease and prevention of diseases caused by carriers from animals to humans.  This information is available to the public relations officer of the college, Dr. R.K.  Jain and Dr. Deepak Gangil gave it.

The program was organized on 26 04 2015 on the premises of Sub Divisional Veterinary Hospital Mandi on Saturday on World Veterinary Day.  The program was chaired by retired Deputy Director Dr. TR Nanda.  On this occasion, he said that by organizing Veterinary Day, we get information about diseases related to animals and their prevention.  The main theme of World Veterinary Day this year was germ-borne diseases caused by animals to humans.  He said that today is the era of media and through publicity, people can be made aware in the field of veterinary medicine.  In the program, Dr. Jeevan Lal spoke about diseases caused by animals to humans, while Dr. Deep Thakur spoke about the welfare of animals.  Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Department Dr. KK Sharma welcomed the Chief Guest and gave information about the schemes.  Assistant Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Jeevan Lal, Dr. Ranjeev Kapoor, Dr. PK Pade, Dr. Jai Singh Sen, doctors of all the veterinary hospitals of the district including representatives of animal husbandry and gosadan institutions were also participated in the program.
