Hii everyone!! In my last blog while I was talking about green skills, green economy and green jobs, the focus was only on one thing that is ‘saving resources’resources'. Most of you must have heard this term in school while you were studying in the middle school. But, we will go into the depth of this topic as it is crucial to understand it's importance and how it's presence or absence impacts the world. So, without any further due let's jump right into the blog to get a good idea of this term and understand it . Let's go

So, a resource is anything found in nature which has the ability to fulfill human needs. A resource is mostly abiotic like water, sunlight or air but thanks to human greed now even biotic components are also termed as resources. For example, paper is a resource from where we get paper, animals are resources from where we get leather. Now, I think the meaning is clear to you. There are mainly two kinds of resources, they are natural resources and man -made or human resources. Natural resources are resources found Independlty in nature, they are scattered around the globe, like in some places a natural resource can be found in abundance, but in other places it can be scare or totally absent. In this blog we will be focusing on natural resources. Natural resources can be further categorized based on different qualities like on the basis of development, origin, exhaustability and distribution. Let's see these categories one by one.

On the basis of development:

1.Actual resources:These are resources available in huge quantities and can be extracted using technology. Eg:Coal

2.Potential resources:These are the resources which are found but not utilized. Eg:Thorium.

On the basis of origin

1.Abiotic:These are the components which help life to sustain. Eg:Water

2.Biotic:These are the living components in nature. Eg:human and animals.

On the basis of exhaustability

1.Renewable resources:These resources are the resources which can be used over and over again. They can be renewed, as the name suggests through various chemical, mechanical or physical resources.

2.Non-renewable resources:These resources are scare in nature and if once exhausted can take million years to be formed again.

On the basis of distribution:

1.Ubiquitous:These resources are present every where eg, sunlight and water.

2.Localised:These resources are found in some areas only like Polar bear is found only in cold regions . Factors like climate affect these resources.
