“Hello”
“Hey, it's been 6 days right? Since we talked last time”
“Is it?”
“Yeah, 6 days. Don't think that I've been counting the days”
“Yeah, I know”
It was a lie. And I know that he already know that it was a lie. It was obvious. When he played along with that knowing the truth, the vibe was different. I smiled. And I know that he was smiling at the same time at the other end of the phone call.
She left to college in the early morning after spenting 2 days with me. I texted her after 15 minutes.
“Did you get the bus?”
“Yeah. Already missing me?”
“No, why would I? I just wanted to make sure that you got the bus on time before I sleep. That's it.”
“Haa. Good night”
I lied again. But she know that I am missing her already.
Sometimes truth is not required to express our emotions. Those who can see through our smile, can definitely read the truth behind those lies. Isn't it beautiful that both of us knew that its a lie and we still chose to let it be?
When life itself is a beautiful lie, we are in constant search for the painful truth in between. But the fact is, these beautiful lies are the things that keeps us moving forward. It is the realisation of being recognised by someone without any effort. No matter how much life gets harder, there will be someone to hold our back always.
All truth are not sweet and all lies are not bitter. Sometimes, all you have to do is live the moment as it is. Some bonds are built prettily above those lies. It doesn't mean its fake or not important. Its just that we don't need proper words all the time. Its like a promise that you could keep to yourself for a lifetime. And a promise to the loved ones that you'll be there for them no matter what happens. That smile of self - realisation at the end says that aloud.
When life is turning out to be a roller coaster, all we need is people who understand us. If someone can read through your eyes, if someone can understand the truth behind the lies, if someone can hear the silent screams behind the smile, what more do you need?
