Accommodation is the most important factor which effects the development of a person as well ashighlights the culture and tradition of the person's life. But in this contemporary world, it become a trend that increasing number of people live in cities and they prefer to live in housing  which is cramped or the places where there is no outdoor space. This tendency brings both benefits and drawbacks to the individuals surviving there.

On the one hand, there are varied number of advantages of living in congestive houses. First of all, small unit houses are cheaper to buy as well as to rent. The prices of land area is rising day by day that made it difficult for any  common person to buy it, so these houses provide individuals a chance to live in low priced accommodation according to their income. Moreover, high rise buildings with many small flats are being constructed in urban areas that can be easily rented at cheaper prices to earn profit. At the same time , property dealers get chance to make huge profits because they generally deal in city centre. The another benefit to the individuals is that these houses are easy to maintain as hectic schedule and fast paced life of people do not allow them to give much time for maintenance of their houses. Consequently, due to smaller size of houses, it provides facility to save their time and utilise it in their work. 

On the other hand,   the negative impact of living in congested areas, individuals are at high risk of getting affected by accidents at the time of emergency such as  fire events and earthquakes. For instance, if there is any earthquake, due to lack of space, accommodates are very congested and there is much more risk of danger as compared to open spaces or large houses. Furthermore, lack of space comes with lack of privacy because people in cities often have shared areas in these type of houses as if a person want loneliness for some time , he or she would not be able to sit alone that interferes private time of an individual.

In conclusion, it can be reinstated that besides having many merits of surviving in small spaces, demerit cannot be neglected.
