Did you know why that mint symbols are printed in a coin and what is the reason to print that mint symbol ? ? ? In this blog we are going to see about that . . . Let we start . . .
In one rupee, two rupee and five rupee coin has a different mint symbols at the bottom. The different mint symbols at the bottom of the Indian coins indicates the which city it has been manufactured.
In India, Indian coins are minted through the SPMCIL mints that's are located in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Noida on various occasions in the past. India faced scarcity of coins and then the government are placed order to the foreigner ministers to fulfill the coin demands in the country. So, different cities are decided to supply the coins. So, symbols are made that is used to originated the coins and theirs cities.
Now, we can see which symbols represents which cities,
If a coins has splitted by diamonds it was manufactured in Hyderabad mint in between the years of 1953 to 1960.
If a coins has dot in the middle of the diamond it was also produced in Hyderabad mint in between the years of 1960 to 1968.
The coins which has a star symbol it indicated that the coin was produced by the city of Hyderabad mint. This mint symbol was established in year of 1968.
2. Dot Mint Symbol
The coin which had dot mint symbol which manufactured in Uttar Pradesh, Noida. The Noida mint was established in the year of 1988.
3. Diamond Mint Symbol
The coin which had diamond mint symbol which was manufactured in Mumbai mint. It was established in the year of 1829.
4. A Coin Without Symbol
If a coin without any symbol it was produced in Kolkata mint and it was established in the year of 1775.
The coins which are all introduced in a time of ancient periods and due to some lack of coins they divided to many cities to print a coins with a minted marks
