Nano structures tha name itself tells the meaning nano means "small" about 10-100nm. Nano technology is a course which has many benefical discoveries in our day-to-day life. Now we are going to see the interesting wonders in our nature. We want things reduction in size but more in efficiency. Reduced size from a room size computer to handfull ipad the sim we also used micro sims with efficency of 4G. This also like that small in size with more efficacy.

Lotus effect-superhydrophobicity

Do you ever think of why water in the lotus leaves are repelled? when you splash water in the leaves it simply rolled off without any impression but in case of other normal leaves that mechanism doesn't happen well, the reason is super hydrophobicity a self-cleaning act the nature has its all kinds of stratergies to lead their life in case of lotus the leaves are composed of micro and nano projections. It is made up of micro level chitin polymer with nano height of waxy cuticle projections. The space in between the protrusions are filled with air so when water droplet splash on the leaves it ride on the projection and also clean the  dirt in the leaves it is called superhydrophobicity.

Using this natural nanostructure scientist engineered a superhydrophobic T-shirts and paints which repell water and throw away the dirts.

Morpho retinar butterfly

Next captivating nanastructure present in butterfly. Now think people have different skin colours which is due to the melanin pigment and plants are green in colour caused by chlorophyll pigment. The reasons behind the flower and fruits colour also pigments but see the bright brilliant blue colour morpho retinar butterfly the blue colour is not by the pigmenations nanostructures in their wings.

The wing made of hexagonal packed array structure and different nanometer spacing between the structute make the wings antireflective and produce different grating colours which is called iridescence. It is the interaction between the light and respective spacing between the structure of wings. It also helps in selfcleaning and improve mechanical strength.

It is useful discovery in optical communication and helps to study the interaction of light.

Okay guys i hope its useful. Nature has important and intricate things in it. We couldn't understand that. when we focus closer view to the nature we can able to learn and understand things make that useful in our life. There are othet living nanostructure example gecko lizard, nepenthes etc..
