Director Vignesh Shivan's latest romantic comedy kaathuvaakula rendu kadhal is a misfire. It offers little, but demands a lot of generosity from the audience to allow a series of miscalculations in vignesh in what looks like a rushing movie.
Rajankudi anbarasu Murugesa Boopathy oohoondhiran aka Rambo ( vijay sethupathi) is a chick magnet. Why? Simple, because he's poor but kindhearted. He lacks charm but he's compassionate. And above all, he can fight to protect the honour and respect to women. He's the most critical version of the mainstream hero and can't survive the real world if left alone.
Rambo is convinced he is cursed. He is touted as a manifestation of misery. In fact bad luck is his superpower. Enthusiastic bike enthusiasts, school kids are late for their exams. And these people can't get into their business because cat and dogs are raining. So rambo decided to get up and save the day. When you go outside and look up at the sky, the rain stops completely. He was somehow able to hack the cosmic consciousness and manipulate it on his whim.
It takes a lot of generosity to get into the premise of this movie. After some unpleasant twists and turns were spoken through a chaotic stitching scene that lacked creativity, literary or comedy value, Rambo went to kanmani Gangley (nayanthara) and katya begum(Samantha). Both women seek Rambo's protection as they are denied a better option. Vignesh creates a situation where rambo is the last living manuscript in the world. And these women will be feeding.
Rambo, kanmani and katya are not compatible. It's unclear why either kanmani or khatija wants to get involved in a non- romance relationship with Rambo. He can't even see those women correctly while talking to them. And he is very bad at romance and romantic gestures that blow women away. Still, kanmani and katya complete for Rambo's affection.
Vignesh dreamed of a completely ignorant romantic comedy about the idea of what happens when sumaar moonji kumar becomes very attractive and the most beautiful, strongest, and the most confident girl blindly indulges in his whims. Falcon? That's all about this movie.
Because this movie expect us to collapse in an ambiguous conversation like “ Onakalyanam pannitan enapanitan ( he married you and slept with me)” designed to address the lowest common denominator. Or a humorous debate about marriage and sex parables, which is better, almonds or pistachios.
