What traits good parents have? Are there are any certain things that a parent does for his/her child that make them good parents?

Raising a kid is a complicated process and there is no fix one process to it. Every child is different. There is no absolute and fixed definition of parenting. Good traits of parenting for one may not seem good to another person. So here is some advice to connect with your child and improve your parenting skills- 
Remember kids are always watching- A child learns by observing from the beginning. Children see you behaving in a certain manner after a situation and always try to copy you. If you are fighting with your partner and showing aggression your child also learns to behave aggressively. If you want your child to behave in a kind, well-mannered, and empathetic as they grew up, always be on your best behavior.
Never be mean and unkind- Because this may affect their confidence and self-esteem. When they grow they may become socially anxious and will have a feeling of fear to get ashamed in front of others.
Guide and Support, Not push or demand- Every parent want their kids to be successful but in this dream they push their kid, and demand too much from them that cause them a feeling of burden and if they don't succeed they might end up feeling worthless. So don't push them just guide and support your kid this will increase their confidence.
Let kids be independent- It is important for kids to do things independently and good parents provide that environment to a child. It is hard to decide how much to help and how much child ka do work on his own. Helping a child is fine but when you do it till the end of a goal this is not good.
Show your kids you love them- We all are busy in our own lives and we forgot to take out time for our kids. so it is very important to show them how lovable they are otherwise they will think that their parents are ignoring them. 
Apologize for your mistakes- you have to teach your kids to take responsibility for the things they did wrong and try to do them right what they did. They have to learn to take responsibility for their actions.
Talk and listen- Parents spend most of the time in taking but they don't try to listen to the child's point. They just ignore the child and don't let them talk. It is very important to listen the child, give your full attention to them and become a good listener this will increase their self-esteem and make them happy.
Discipline Effectively- Discipline is not only important but it also makes your child grow happier. It helps in a child's overall development. If a child is not disciplined are more likely to become stubborn, spoiled, and greedy when they grow.

All these traits are very important to become a good parent and raising a happy and with high self-esteem child.
