So now we are ready to go for today's topic, you see โTHE MAHABHARATโ is of the most historical and exemplary literary works ever produced in India. Though it is a poem written by Vyasa, most of us know it as a story. Mahabharata is not a story for me, but it is a feeling that is in the heart of every Indian, it is just a glimpse of the royal and prosperous life of that great country of India who gave the world one of the greatest warriors and teachers who taught the whole world to live and who is still remembered with respect all over the world. This is the history of that great country of India, which has secured its glory all over the world with its values โโand thoughts. Today I'll talk about the greatest warrior and my favorite character in this epic. There are many warriors in the epic "Mahabharat" besides Karna. Arjuna, Duryodhana, Bhima, Nakula, and Sahadeva are some of the most famous warriors mentioned in this story. But who is the best warrior on this list?
So, you see greatness is not all about being powerful or have a tremendous amount of money or have a great kingdom, of course, these could a contributing factors, but it's about being humble, modest, a philanthropist, and a man of honor.
So, let me introduce the greatest and one of the most damned characters of this epic. He is the eldest son of Mata Kunti and Sun God, he was a Pandavs yet he fought for Kauravas. He was ill-treated by the royal family because he was known as the son of a charioteer. But no one knew what a great and royal family he belongs to, actually, he never knew that he belongs to heaven he was the son of Sun got himself and Mata Kunti until Mata Kunti told him during the war. He was no other than the greatest bestowed ever"KARNA".
The story begins with Kunti, when she was a princess she claimed a mantra/spell from a great rishi/saint. The spell had such a great power that it could summon any god and the person who uses it gets a chance to wish for a baby ๐ถ who'd have similar godly powers. So, Kunti tried to investigate the real powers of that spell, she then used the same spell and summoned the Sun God himself โSURYA DEVโ, but she didn't know if the spell is once put to use the user had no option left but to make that wish of a baby. So the same happened to Kunti, Surya Dev rewarded Kunti with Karna a beautiful baby who was full of divine light, he was born with a beautiful armor and coil fixed with his body from birth. The armor and coil were soaked in the divine next or of immortality(elixir) and were unbreakable any God or demon. This is how The great warrior Karna was born. But Kunti was not very happy with this reward, because you see in ancient times it was very shameful and sinful acts for women to have a child before marriage. And the same happened with Kunti, so she crushed her feelings and motherhood and put Karna in a small basket, and gave free ends to swim in the Ganga river. Karna got his other because of this act that is โSON OF GANGAโ although he was her great grandmother. You see Karna was a mistake he was never desired or wanted, he was a result of his mother's curiosity. So, after floating on river Ganga for days he was seen by a common man Adhirath he was a charioteer. As Adhirath and Radha had no child, they adopted Karna and started raising him like their own son. And as the years passed by Karna proved that he was not any ordinary boy but he belonged to a royal family and had divine powers. He was very good at the art of arms, especially at archery. He had an eye-catching complexion. By seeing his golden armor and coils no one could tell he belonged to a low caste. People around him could see the Sun God himself in Karna while he was showing his courage and bravery. Unlike Pandavas and Kauravas, Karna lacked the opportunities and resources. Pandavas and Kauravas had one of the greatest teachers in the whole world, he was no other than Guru Dronacharya. He was a common teacher to both Pandavas and Kauravas. To make up for this deficiency Karna went to a lot of great teachers to learn about arms and weapons, but every single one of them rejected him by saying, the art of arms was only meant for high caste peoples, not like him a son of a charioteer. Getting rejected by so many teachers Karna was almost on the verge of losing hope when he learned about the best teacher present on the planet earth, he was none other than the teacher of Guru Dronacharya, Parshuram himself. But trouble never stopped coming in his way, now Guru Parshuram only taught to Brahmins. So Karna lied about being about a Brahmin and Guru Parshuram believed him by seeing the charming more of a divine kind of personality, which planted the seed of Karna's tragic death.
If you wish to know more about what happened to Karna and how Guru Parshuram cursed him, and how this unsung warrior died his tragic and horrific death, do comment below for part 2. I'll make sure I again come up with more interesting facts about this great warrior.
Till then stay healthy and keep reading.
