Hello readers,

We all know that the proper functioning of the body depends on what we eat. A balanced diet is required to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes we do not focus much on the food we consume and it can lead to deficiencies which in turn causes malfunctioning of the body.

One of the important element of the body is iron. Near about 70 percent of the body's iron is found in red blood cells (RBCs) in the haemoglobin and in the muscle cells. It regulates several functions in the body. The deficiency of iron can be a cause for several other disease related to lungs and heart. It can also increase the risk of infection and viral diseases. A person who has iron deficiency have the following symptoms-

Excessive Tiredness- An iron deficient person feels tired most of the time. The haemoglobin is not formed due to the lack of iron. As a result, adequate amount of oxygen does not reach our muscles and the body feels tired.

Headache- It can also cause continuous headache. Due to the low level of haemoglobin, oxygen does not reach the brain which causes pressure on the blood vessels.

Change in skin colour- If the skin colour is getting dull then it is also a symptom of iron deficiency. When you make a first, the colour of the nails seem white. The eyes also start to look dull.

Here are some ways that can help you to maintain the required amount of iron in the body-

Fruits and vegetables- Every fruit and vegetable has some health benefits. Add spinach, cauliflower, cabbage, turnip lemon, sweet potato in your diet. Eat apple, pomegranate, banana, blackberry to maintain the iron level in the blood.

Beetroot and Carrot- You can mix the carrot and beetroot juice and drink it. If you want to consume only beetroot then cook it a little in steam. Try not to consume uncooked beetroot, it can be harmful to the throat.

Dry fruits- Soak two figs and raisins in water overnight. Consume this in morning empty stomach, it helps a lot in increasing the level of haemoglobin. Besides eat almonds, walnuts and pistachios.

Jaggery and peanuts-  Jaggery and peanuts are helpful to overcome iron deficiency. You can consume it daily. Chew it properly.
