Don't Use Mobiles At Late Night!.....why??

Hello everyone,

As we all know mobiles have become a necessity for everyone specially during this time- when everything was closed, no one was able to go anywhere, technology was the only way to be in touch with the people who were away from us. Even now the situation is not good. The schools, universities everything is closed and people are working from home. It is all possible because of the development in the technology. We are aware of its uses as well as the misuses so I won't talk much about that.

Ever you ever heard anyone saying “Do not use mobile/laptop at night”? Obviously yes! There main concern is that you can have sleep problems so isolate yourself from the screen one hour before you go to sleep. But have you ever wonder how screen affects our sleep. If no then this is the time. We are getting that much into web shows that sometimes we are awake whole night just to finish the “one season”. The distured sleep cause irritation and when we do not have enough sleep, we felt restless.

The main phenomenon behind this is that the pineal gland of our body secretes a hormone called melatonin which regulates the sleep-wake cycle. This hormone works according to the light. What I mean here is that it receives information about the dark light cycle from the environment and convey this information to produce the hormone melatonin. When we are watching something on the screen, it gets tricked and perceives it as day. As a result, it doesn't produce the hormone required to sleep and after sometime we do not feel sleepy. Then we sleep late and wake up late in the morning and this is how our schedule disturbs. This is the science behind “do not use mobiles phones much at night”.

Not only this but this hormone is responsible for several other functions of the body so if it is not produced in required amount it can alter other functions also.

Screen time

Summing Up-

A quality sleep is necessarily required to concentrate on our daily work. Lack of sleep can cause several problems and this happens for a long period, it can cause severe problems. Try not to use screen before your sleeping time. It is completely fine to work as we have all own responsibilities but health should not be ignored. Remember the old saying “Health is wealth”.
