Learning New Skills During Lockdown As A Teen

The lockdown in my city began early this year. It started in February first week. The situation was very chaotic and unpleasant. So, people simply sat at home and chilled.  I usually wasted my time using phone or watching Netflix. The thing with me is I don't really like doing anything much. One day I suddenly realised that I've been wasting some of my most valuable times doing simply nothing. The time that I'll never get back. This thought just couldn't let me sleep at night. I got tensed and anxiety struck me. That night I sat besides my window and thought of a way out.  I wanted to be as productive as I could but didn't know how. The only skills I had were of sleeping. My grandma suggested, why don't you learn knitting from me. Now living in 2021 that was a skill fewer people know, and very less appreciated. That was the last thing I imagined myself doing. But since I was bored and a person of no definite use, I told myself, let's give it a try. The first time I did it, I didn't even know how to hold the crochet needle. It was not as easy as it looked.  But I tried and day by day I became better in that skill. I could do patterns and I made many woolen products since then and I've been liking doing it the more I do it. I even started selling them to the people who wanted to buy. It is like a new hobby that I can't pass by, without. Knitting has developed my concentration skill coz if you don't concentrate then you'll mess up. It has even increased my sight as I can notice slightest mistakes that I make sometimes. It is like a different type of work from home. And I would like to admit that I do love doing it now. I can proudly say that I an being productive this lockdown. Moreover, being a teen, I am satisfied with the fact that I'm spending more time offline than online. So, that's how I've been passing my lockdown learning new skills. This is something that I'll completely recommend to my readers who are interested in something unique and creative.

I've also started doing exercises to stay healthy. But that's a complete different story that I'll save for my next vlog.
