It was not very long ago, there lived a blind visionary on the bank of a very famous river. He was known far and wide for the wisdom he possessed.
People from all around the world used to come to him seeking advice in varied subjects. From marriage problems to political battles, the blind visionary was able to solve everyone's problem.
People felt quite mesmerized by the powers of this blind visionary, that how without even looking at people he was able to gauge their intentions and was able to present a logical solution every time. How was that even possible!
A lot of people claimed that the blind visionary was not actually blind, and that he was faking it just to gain sympathy and fame, or else, how is it even possible for someone to settle money disputes without even looking at a persons face.
One day a man bluntly asked the visionary to reveal his secret or accept that he was a con man and nothing much.
The Blind Visionary simply smiled and requested that man to come closer, so that he can tell him his secret. the man stood up, went to hear the blind visionary and awaited for him to tell the eternal secret.
The blind Visionary started speaking and asked the man, do you like stories? The man answered with a yes.
Can you listen to a story and memorize little details of the story being told? the man said, yes up to an extent.
Ok, then with a little practice even you can become a visionary just like me, the only condition is that one has to love stories for the job.
But how do you do it? the man asked.
it is simple!
When two people come to me with a dispute or problem, and I have to make out which one of them is telling the truth and which one is not, I simply ask them to tell me the whole scenario over the course of 3-7 days.
I call both the person on each day and ask them to tell me the whole story of their dispute and struggle again and again.
How does that help you in making the right choice? asked the man.
See, when I ask two people to narrate the same incident, they both come up with their own versions of the stories. obviously, one person's story here is true while the other is simply making things up.
When people tell me their stories I simply sit and listen very keenly to everything, and since I can't see but only listen, I can remember things spoken to me for a very long time without any alterations in them.
When people come daily to recite the same story, I do nothing but only listen. then once I have heard the same story over and over again, I reach my conclusion automatically.
But how?
See, the person telling the truth tells the same story everyday, he will tell it the same way even if you ask him a thousand times, while the person who is making up the story starts changing it day by day to make it more realistic and relatable.
The person who is lying lives in constant fear of forgetting his story as he hasn't lived it, and hence he misses out on little details during each narration. On the other hand, the person who is telling the truth never deviates from his character or story, and that is how I know who is telling the truth and who is not.
So, how do you like my secret?
But, That's not a secret, it's is an eternal fact. you don't possess any superpowers at all.
Yes, you are right, I never claimed that I have any super powers.
I just love listening to stories, that is it!
Maybe that is my superpower! - The Blind Visionary Said.
