The stroy continues exactly where it ended in the first part. Shiva (prabhas)has learned about his heritage and now we learn the back story of Amarendra Baabubali (prabhas) .Amarendra has been chosen by  shivagami (Ramya krishnan) to become the next king of the mahishmati kingdom . Before his swearing -in ceremony, he is asked to visit the regions under his leaelership as a layman to learn more about his peole. During his visit,Amarendra meets  Devasens (Anushka shetty). 

She is a fire princess who knows exactly when to use her sword. Impreessed by her beauty and bravery , Baahubali falls in love with her. While he is still disguised as a commoner, devasena also stars developing feeding for him.when sivagami sends an offer on Devasena's behalf, the head strong princess refusesito be. enticed by the gold and giftsb sent to her. Baahubali mistake his marriage proposal and it turns out that it is actually for his brother Bhallal deva (Rena Daggubati). After Devasena's arrogent rejection,sivagami takes no interest in her and demanels that she be captured and brought to mahishmati. There is comic relief in These parts and The way The writers have shapped katappa's stern and dutiful character for hilarious antics is amazing Devasena's childhood character justifies her tough stance right from The first part , where she standy against Bhallaladeva despite his power.some scenes are very impactful, like why Baahubali cuts sethupathi's necting middle of a court session , saying , auton ki issat pe heat dale,uska haat nai ,sir katna chahiye",a rather powerful commentery on the times for us live in. Also,it is impressive how The writer gives Devasena's character confindance to question and answer Rajmata sivagami's injutices such as marrying hor with out her consent. insprired by mythology,The first half has some twists and turns.
