"My Journey & Experiences With Yog Nidra"

Hey everyone my name is Vibhu & welcome to my post. I hope this post would be worth your time & you would learn something from it. 

Introduction : 

Where ever we are in our lives. Whatever characters we all are playing. Whatever dreams and ambitions we have or how busy we all are in our day to day life but ultimately we all need some peace and rest at the end of the day. We usually get that proper recharge to our body while we sleep. Yes, Sleep is the most important part of the human system. 

Importance of Sleep :

See there are a lots of benefits of sleep but the amount of relaxation that you get while sleeping depends upon the quality of the sleep not the quantity. Yes you may have seen that despite sleeping for 7-8 hours you sometimes still feels sleepy, tired & exhausted. It is due to lack of quality sleep. Therefore quality is always preffred over quantity. And to improve the quality of our sleep, “Yog-Nidra” is one such method that you can practice. 

I am listing here some of the positive effects of a good quality sleep : 

  1. Sleep helps to maintain 24 hours rhythm of the body.
  2. It helps to maintain the blood pressure.
  3. It repairs our body and decreases the stress level.
  4. Sleep promotes happiness & enthusiasm in us.
  5. Regulates Menstrual cycle & sexual development.
  6. Creates psychological balance in us.
  7. Increases logical & reasoning abilities.
  8. Improves mental health & creativity.

What is wrong then?

See now a days in this fast paced and busy life we all at some points have compromised the quality as well as quantity of our sleep. And because of that we are developing more psychological problems in our day to day life. So to handle this issue we all need a self sufficient method with no side effects so that we can live our life to its fullest. 

Solution for this : 

One such method to improve the quality of our sleep is “Yog-Nidra” which I too am practising for about 2 months now. Here I am going to share some of the positive effects of Yog-Nidra on me that I am observing now a days : 

  • Initial 7 days were not comfortable for me as it was the beginning but I kept on doing it.
  • After 7 days of continuous practice I started developing some positive changes in myself like :
  1. My concentration started becoming better in 20 days of Yog-Nidra practice.
  2. Quality of my sleep now has become better as now 5-6 hours of good sleep provides me the value equal to 7-8 hours of long sleep.
  3. Now I feel more enthusiastic & of strong will power every morning.
  4. Deep relaxation of mind and body every day.
  5. Positive effects on creativity & solution finding abilities.
  6. Significant decrease in anger and compulsive behavior.
  7. Improved confidence and focus.

Although it's only 2 months for me doing this practice but still I am able to register these positive changes though not very strongly but yes they are happening for sure. I am hopeful with it in coming future.
