When i saw title of this great author the Brianna Wiest's book, the mountain in you, i thought mountain depict power here but no, the biggest mountain which stop you to get the life which you want is self - sabotage.

Are you sufferer from self sabotage?

Self sabotage refers to the act of knowingly unknowingly undermining one's own efforts, goal, or well-being. It involves engaging in behaviours, thoughts, or actions that hinder personal progress or success, often due to deep - seated fears, insecurities, or negative self beliefs.This self destructive behaviour can manifest in various ways, such as procrastination, avoiding challenges, negative self -talk, setting unrealistic expectations, or engaging in harmful habits. 

common signs of self - sabotage include:

  1. Procrastination: Putting off important tasks or delaying action, even when they are crucial for achieving goals. 
  2. Fear of success: Feeling anxious or uneasy about achieving success and the responsibilities that may come with it.
  3. To be in race of perfectionist: setting high expectation leads to be in path of self doubt
  4. Negative self talk: This is more dangerous thing people do with them self, please choose words wisely when you talk to yourself, you have to be more conscious about your thought while you talking with yourself rather than talking to any other, because that person leaves you but you are always with yourself.
  5. Avoidance of challenges: steering clear of opportunities that involve risk or stepping out of one's comfort zone.
  6. Setting unrealistic expectations: Creating goals that are too ambitious or setting oneself up for failure by expecting too much, too soon.
  7. Engaging in self - destructive habits: Turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms like excessive drinking, overeating, or substance abuse.
  8. Problems with intimacy and relationships: Dismissing or not recognizing opportunities for growth or advancement.

First step to overcoming self sabotage is to aware about it. Understand your every self sabotage, objectify it, stop negative self talk and start to become self adviser because only you have the answer of your every question, because nobody else see this world as what you saw. Trust yourself and trust the process.Don't shy for seeking support from friends, family, or mental health professional can be good instrumental in breaking free from self sabotaging behaviour and creating a more positive Please read this book, the mountain in you, it will very helpful book, it has both problem and it's solution, you definetly relate it.
