The Silent Patient is a perfect thriller book written by Alex Michaelids.It is New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller and over a million copies were sold. Now let's get into the story.

The Main Character of this book is Alicia,she is a famous painter.she is married to a famous fashion photographer Gabriel Berenson.They both had a comfortable and happy life together.But one day everything had changed.Gabriel has returned to home after a late night shoot,Alicia shot him with a gun 5 times in his head. 

She did not speak a single word during the investigation ,so she was sent to the Grove【Mental Hospital】.The Grove was in very bad condition, it could be closed at any time.In the grote many psycho artists have fried yo make alicia speak but she did not utter a single word for six long years

Theo, who is also the narrator of the story, is a famous psychiatrist.And when he heard about Alicia's case he really wanted to help her.Theo somehow felt related with her case because he himself had a dreadful past and to overcome that it took him many years with the help of a psychiatrist. He felt that Alicia also required good therapy to become a normal person.

Theo had resigned a well payed job and applied the job at the Grove. He had worked hard to know about  Alicia's background.He contacted her cousin,neighbour and her previous therapists.He visited to the art stadium where alicia worked and met her colleagues and enquired about her.He took many therapy sessions with Alicia but it was of no use.During the therapy sessions Alicia would sit silently, she would not respond at all.All the psychiatrists would say that Alicia's case is simply a waste of time and they insisted theo to just leave the case and focus on other cases. But theo never lost his hope and tried his best   one day the silence broke alicia finally spoke and also she gave her personal diary to theo.Theo had finally succeeded.

This book is a treat to all the book lovers especially to the ones who are interested in thriller novels.

I do not want to spoil the excitement and thrill by narrating the whole story and I strongly recommend u guys to give it a read.
