The historical Buddha, also known as Gautama Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama or Buddha Shakyamuni, was born in Lumbini in the Terai region of Nepal near the Indian border. One of the most important Asian thinkers of all time and one of his spiritual masters, he has contributed to many areas of philosophy including epistemology, metaphysics and ethics. The Buddha's teaching formed the basis of Buddhist philosophy which developed first in South Asia and later in other parts of Asia.

Buddha's 10 Teachings:

Relationship and Life

Buddha believed that one should love oneself first and then seek a lasting relationship with someone else.

Happiness

According to Buddha's philosophy only those who appreciate the little things in life will be happy. Finding the root of your problems and being happy with what you have puts you on the path to happiness.

Peace

The true source of happiness is inner peace. If you have a calm mind you can easily deal with any problem

Success

Loving what you do and working hard for it throughout your life is considered true success.

Patience

Patience is one of the cornerstones of a happy life. Buddha believed that anyone who mastered it could achieve anything and live a happy life.

Kindness

According to the Buddha money, fame and degrees do not impress anyone. Kindness and humanity are the elements that make a good impression on everyone.

Equality

The Buddha preached that all should be treated equally and that all should be respected.

Mind

A disciplined mind is the key to success. According to his teaching a pure heart attracts joy.

Self

According to the Buddha we are a safe place and a sanctuary. We shouldn't look to others for happiness or love ourselves to be happy.
