Introduction of Hair:

• Hair is made from dead protein cells Keratin.
• A stand of hair has three layers.

1. Cuticle
2. Cortex
3. Medulla

Cuticle :

It is the outer protection. It is made from 6 to 11 layers of over lapping semi transparent scalps (which makes the hair water proof and allow it to be streched) some one with fine hair. It protect from UV rays, dust and pollution.

Cortex:

It is second layer of hair. It gives flexibility and tensile strength to hair and contains melanin (giving its colour) without melanin, the party hollow hair appears grey.

Medulla:

It is the inner layer of hair. It maintain density (thickness). Medulla is a honey comb keratin structure with air spaces with in it.
