Here are some of the highlights from the just ended audio and trailer launch from “Vikram”.

Lokesh Kanagraj used to here stories about Kamal Hasan going to his Alwarpet residences terrace to breathe some fresh air, and occasionally weaving to fans waiting below. Lokesh, an aspiring director and Kamal lover, used to wander by Kamal's house, hoping that the celebrity would wave at him one day. Lokesh had hoped for nothing more than a wave from Kamal.

But he got a once-in-lifetime chance to tell his “film aandavar” to “action and cut”. And it's in his fourth picture. Vikram which is Kamal's 23rd. Lokesh reflected on his journey thus far during the recent audio and trailer presentation of Vikram.

“I believe in God. I've said it before, but watching Kamal sir's films taught me everything i know about film making. I am grateful for the chance to collaborate with him. I believe in hard effort commitment. There was a nine-year road that took me to where! am now before I met Vikram ”From day one", there was not a single demand from Kamal sir, and he absolutely trusted me," Lokesh remarked presenting his crew of  assistant directors and thanking them from their hard work on the complicated action.

The trailer Vikram has a battalion of stars, including Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Narein, Kalidas Jayaram, and Gayatherie, in the teaser, which hints at an explosive action spectacular. Lokesh hailed actor Suriya for agreeing to da a cameo, much to everyone's astonishment.

When Lokesh approached him about the role, it was a no-brainer for Sethupathi. More than appearing with Kamal, it was an opportunity for sethupathi to talk about his approach to acting and life with the actor. When asked about the event in which Sethupathi was turned down for the position of backdrop artisr in Kamal's Nammavar, her replied the seed was probably sown at that time.

“I was turned down because i used to be really thin and couldn't even grow a moustache. ”But i recall Kamal sir riding a green bike around the set. He was discussing with fellow actor Madhan Bob and Karan during the break, and i was curious as to what he was talking about. “I wanted that and Vikram provided me that chance, ”Sethupathi remarked of his week-long acting workshop for this film, which was his first.

“This presented itself as an opportunity for me to learn frim Kamal Sir.” I just wanted to know and understand how he would approach the same situation, and how different it is from my, when you are handed the scene  paper and when you come prepared to act with Kamal sir. He used to be a fountain of knowledge about acting, life, and movies.

Vijay Sethupathi wish to work alongside Kamal Hasan has finally come true. Another request came from the actor: he wanted to work with Kamal. 'i have always like your writing style. He stated." I wish to be directed by you".

Filmmaker Pa Ranjith, actor silambarasan and actor-politician Udayanidhi Stalin were among those who attended the audio launch. Pa Rajith, speaking at the event, named Virumaandi as his favorite Kamal film, nothing that the film's non-linear story telling struck him. He also hinted that there was something going on with Kamal. When asked what kind of film he would like to do, the Kaala filmmaker answered he would like to make something based in Madurai. Kamal later confirmed this.
